I followed these instructions http://www.svtperformance.com/forums...nsole-how.html. Everything lines up but you have to tap the holes for the brackets.

 

Hey does anyone that has done this swap think that self tapping screws would hold the console in place instead of retapping the holes?

 

Crap. I need the brackets. Damn! Time to go back to the junkyard.

 

I have captains chairs with the tilt armrests, will it fit still?

 

You would have to get a skinny expedition console instead of the wide one. The lid and compartment is just smaller. They come out of expeditions with the armrests.

 

ok thanks... Are the bases of the console still the same you think? I know there would be a hole in the seat, but what if i pulled out the armrests that are attached to the seat. Could i install the wider one? I want the wider one if its taller...

ok just checked it, its the same height. bases are the same

Yeah everything else is the same, it just is smaller on top to fit the armrests as you can see now.
