Default Evap readiness code

Hello
My battery went dead in my 20015.4 supercrew f150 so i replaced it, the problem is i am due for a smog and the readiness code for the evap is the only one left and i cannot get it to clear. I have heard of other people saying it takes along time, so far i have put over a 150 miles on it and nothing, i put a half tank of fuel in and drove for 20 minutes on the freeway maintaining 60mph and then back home another 20 minutes at 65mph along with driving back and fourth to work etc. I really need to figure out how to get the evap readiness to clear so i can smog truck. Any input is much appreciated.

Thanks

So what code are you showing? P1000? If so, it will take some more driving. It is another code, post it and maybe we can help diagnose the situation.

I have no DTC codes, its the readiness monitors that have to be clear to show that all systems are checked and cleared so i can smog

I just had this issue, no amount of driving will ready the monitors. I drive hundreds of miles

What worked for me was letting the truck sit over night without messing with it.

In the morning before you start the truck use a obd2 scanner to reset the monitors and clear all systems. This will force the truck to do a retest of all systems again. Find the drive cycle for fords online (easy to find) and perform the cycles once more. I did stop and go driving first then went straight to the highway for 10-15 min. 15 to be safe without flooring it. Keep a steady speed will ready the evap monitor. The fuel must also be between 1/2 3/4 for it to perform the test. oh and the drive cycle must be performed within 30 min of starting the vehicle.

Np, I tried for a week but my evap and cat would not set. So I finally just reset it and did the drive cycle. For me The only one that did not set correctly after all the driving was the cat monitor but in CA we can test and pass with 1 not set

EVAP Monitor will not run IAT is outside 40-100 deg F

Fuel tank level should be between 1/2 and 3/4

You should fine then!!! Just make sure your gas cap isn't broken or cracked or anything. Your truck is a 01, so I actually think you're ok with 2 not set they stopped doing the sniff test and gas tank pressure for any car 2000 and up I think. . I passed mine with 1 not set . I'm 99% sure you should be able to go smog right now.

They look to make sure you have no
DTC and your monitors are set. You should be fine with 1 not set doesn't matter which one it is

Just go to your smog guy and let them know you changed the battery and you performed the drive cycle, ask them if they can check your systems to make sure you're ready for smog before they perform the test any good shop will check it first and then smog it if it's ready. If they say they charge to check readiness go to another shop.
