engine temperature problem

Default engine temperature problem

so recently i notice while driving (and in cold weather) i would notice while driving my temp would drop below normal then come up then again all of a sudden drop a little this is weird. can anyone steer me a good direction. i want to say maybe a thermostat but not sure . i kinda wish i had a scan tool. well maybe eventually

It dropps because your thermestat is opening and allowing more coolant to flow. Ie cooling the engine. But when it cools off enough it closes and warms back up. Which is normal. It dramatic you need a new thermostat.

X2 you don't want to be out in the cold and it sticks closed. I had a vehicle do that to me once at 3 in the morning when it was -20 outside on the back roads. I thought I was going to freeze to death. Luckily a buddy was coming the same way home from work.

Yep after 10 minutes I could feel my legs it was horrible. I didn't even have a phone had to go to a house and knock on a door to use a phone. At three in the morning iam glad they let me use their phone.

I would replace the thermostat along with the temp sensor. Typically the the gauge will not show any small difference in temperature.

i replaced the thermostat like 2 years ago but i guess i will do that again but this time parts from ford

Uou can replace your thermoatat every 6months if you use too much water in your radiator and let it get low without filling it up. It will push air through the system and make everything rust.
