Thanks. Did you face the sensor out/forward or on the inside facing in toward the engine valley or straight up. Just wanted to know where the room was and location chosen so as to ascertain easy access once all the peripherals were attached.

Correct, that would be a mistake on their part. The ECT would be the CHT for the 03 5.4L Petrol engines. So ordering a ECT would get you a CHT.

Yea, both ECT and CHT were on the drivers side of the engine. 97-98 5fours had both sensors 99-04 had just the CHT and took over the duties of the past ECT sensor after it's elimination.

Always busy, sometimes that doesn't slow down until you do lol. Yea, the T-fitting is the simple fast way to integrate the ECT. You do this after the cross-over of course.

If you want to take the time to incorporate it into the crossover, -by all means, do it up. It's more difficult and it has to be done correctly the first time. No margin for error. I've seen some nice Tig jobs done, but most use the method that Crazy is referring to. This way has a cleaner look to it as well, when done right.

Loctite 545 works great with that too. IF you can find some. Only place, - Ebay, since it's been discontinued. I used quite a bit of that stuff Monday, just for 200 psi, but it's rated much higher. The tube I used was dated 01 lol. That was for NPT dissimilar metals, - brass into aluminum. It's Anaerobic sealer (seals in the absence of air). No leaks! Yea, stick to Loctite products for that stuff.

Ok, that's the kind of detailed info I need! So will my 98' wiring harness reach the CHT port in the 03' head and will the ECT reach a coolant hose (which?) or the Alum. crossover without spicing to make them both longer?

I'd like to see some pics. of that tigged tapped port, where and how it's oriented.

The one in this pic already has been drilled and threaded and has a allen drive plug in it and appears to have plenty of metal available. I wonder if it's the same size as the ECT threads. Googling, I've seen others that have an untapped boss right next to the thermostat.

Well, there's nothing like having a factory boss when and where you need one, hope mine has it. I'll check the 03' it as soon as the darn rain stops if it ever does. Nice job for the drill press.
