You will need to snag a torque converted from the 5.4 too but I wouldnt run anything before 99 unless I wanted to pi swap it.

03 to 04 you go from 2V to 3V ...don't think you want to go that route..

99-03 will work or a 04 heritage will work but I think all the heritages were 4.6Ls.

You can also use a 5.4 from a van all the way up to 2008. The Economize fans had 2v's in them. You will just need a the thottle body aND elbow from your existing truck.

Yes/no. I'm going to run the 4.6 converter just because the stall speed is a little bit higher than the 5.4. That's what they mean by the torque is multiplied at a higher rate, just like in my racecar I had a 4000 stall which multiplied the torque way higher than the factory converter. It is harder on the transmissions but I also have a spare that's being built for when the transmission goes kapooya.

If you do any towing it's better to have a 5.4 converter. Ido about you but a 4.6 converter will stall around 2800. But it will flash to 3500. So any smart person who was looking for reliability would want to swap the converter.
