Default engine misfiring

engine is misfiring on cylinder2. installed new platinum plugs and wires, still missing.

I'm assuming a 5.4L but try moving the coil from Cylinder 2 to Cylinder 1 or 3. See if the misfire follows the coil. Also check your connections and make sure they are tight.

Do you mean a non motorcraft plug? If so start over and replace with oem plugs.

Well, he said plug and wires...

OP, again, what engine. It makes a difference.
If you have plug wires, it is either a 4.2 v6 or 4.6 v8.

Without this info, anything advice is a guess.

And just to be clear, you had a misfire on plug 2, then changed the plug (and wires?), and it is still happening? What did the old plug look like? Any codes set?

my f150 XLT has the 4.2 engine and has over 244,000 miles. I recently (2 days ago) replaced the coil pack, which seemed to fix the problems. Thank You all.
