Default Engine Flush?

Hi guys I got a question for you I was talking to my mom and she said she had her engine flushed and showed me the bill and it did say engine flush because I never heard of it and I guess it removes all the sludge which sounds great to me because I'd love to get my engine clean my question is it like a transmission flush where it can be bad if it has too many miles or does it not matter. My trucks oil has been changed on the dot every 3000 miles or before and it has 176k and the only think i've ever put in it to clean it a little is some seafoam so if you guys could give me some opinions that would be great thx- zach

If you have been doing the oil changes as you say, with a quality oil, then a flush would be a waste of your money.
The Seafoam will be plenty.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Yuck seafoam. If you want a good product to run in the oil, Kreen is the only way to go. Look down the oil fill tube. If there's no varnish or sludge, there's really no reason.

Seafoam is pretty much naphtha in a can. Just a paint thinner which burns hot. Adding it to oil will cause lubrication to go down and causes different pressures for the PCV system.

The problem with spraying something into the intake (like carb cleaner) is it goes into the cylinder and through the rest of the system at once. The best way is to take it off and clean it on the bench. However, for most people that is a job that's too involved and time consuming. The best way with it on is to get as much as you can with the throttle body removed with pipe cleaners going down into the intake, then run a PEA based cleaner through the fuel system. PEA cleaners like Techron or Gumout Regane don't have the ill side effects like naphtha or toluene based cleaners, and do a better job.
