Engine Builders talk.
That's what I was thinking to that's why I didn't want to go much over 10.8:1 for the CR. Maybe a medium high CR and low boost. I'm gonna talk to Thomas about going 4v too, probably won't do 4v but it's a possibility. I also plan on keeping this truck as my daily for a long time so I don't want to go crazy with it. I want to keep it on pump gas obviously, but not E85 since I have never seen it here. Stock we are at like maybe 200 rwhp and 250 rwtq, if I could hit 300 rwhp and 350 or 400 rwtq without twisted wedge heads or boost I'd be happy
Keep in mind stock lightnings ran 8.5:1 for a reason
Specs are in the build thread, but with the headers and everything I'm putting on mine I'm hoping around 300 something at the crank. I'm putting it on the dyno for ****s and giggles, then I'm putting it back on after a blower

Alot of the lightning guys run higher boost tho. I think a non lighting pi 5.4 is like 9.1:1 and guys are running 10-12 pounds on that. 10.8 is probably a little high but something in the High 9s to low 10s may work out with less boost. I'm not looking for anything crazy 6-8 pounds would be more than enough

If you just want extra power without going insanely expensive toss a blower on your stock motor. Idk what shape your engine is in, but run it til it quits and get a new 5.4 for $2-$3k. You'd be in the new motor/blower for around $5-6k vs $20-25k for a 12th gen.
My trans or motor would blow up really quick if I just put on a blower. I have almost 200k on it. They are in good shape but still
If you want to figure parasitic loss or gain for FWHP add or subtract about 35% for these trucks.
Adding in cams, you got me...haven't seen those differences on the dyno. Just what I posted above. If you want more than 260, - you might as well charge it.
A coyote w/doner would be a great find if reasonably priced. With a doner, it's just about cake. The icing goes on as soon as you hit the go pedal, and comes back off temporarily after leaving the transmission in the dust.
