Engine Builders talk.
If you were to bore the 5.0 to be 330(5.4). You would be taking the 3.623 bore to 3.795. For a difference of .172". So that's boring it over 50 times the max on the 5.4 block. I'm not sure about the bore spacing/jackets and such on the 5.0 though.
Have you been following MyFX4Project ? Ideally only 40hp when stock but the logic of swapping a motor most people would upgrade yielding more power, cams, ported heads, etc. You may lose some bottom end tq from the 2v..depending in how its built.
Didnt know the rods were mahle or i would have stuck with them. I just threw them away thinking they were trash. Oops.
That's a lot of boring. I know if you go over .003" on a 5.4 block you run into the water jets and can weaken the chambers. The 5.0 has a larger bore just a must smaller stroke. I think you will notice your low end tq will be less but will pick up in mid rpms. Your gears will help though with low end loss.
Lol then he'd say why isn't it already on the truck then and I'd say cause they didn't have them long enough to know what needed to be changed until 99+ lol
How hard would it be to get them to fit lightnings properly
