Maximum power for 5k is gonna be a supercharger on a home rebuilt motor. You're looking at 2k to build the trans and 3k might get your motor rebuilt to handle boost for a good while reliably but then you gotta get an s/c and all of the parts that go with it a tuner a couple dyno runs to get her tuned. Your looking at around 7-8k for a good solid motor/trans combo with good power.

 

How much are you looking for in the end? Not many people run much more than 500 hp

 

Yup. I got an ingersol rand impact gun because I didnt want the cheapo home depot brand. I have a lot of craftsman tools for the most part. My dad has an obsession with craftsman so thats usually what I get. We have craftsman lawn mower, toolbox, sockets, etc etc. If its got the name he wants it haha

 

I hope to be around 600-650 on a 93 tune.

 

Unless you need a replacment truck coming weekly to visit you, you don't have to have snap on or mac tools. I actually like Mac impact stuff better, but still high dollar.

You can pretty much pick up everything for an overhaul and build at wal-mart and sears. Minus a good impact, air hoses, and torque wrench. This is minus specific automotive tools; 3 prong pullers, pitman puller, harmonic balancer puller, spring compressor, etc.

 

You're also not most people,you have to out do everyone haha.

 

I used a HF stand and hoist for my install. There cheap! Much much cheaper than paying someone to install a motor!!!
