Lol just grab the obx longtubes for 470 $ you're going to end up paying more after getting those collectors welded on unless you're handy with metal work

I'm not denying the simplicity of the OBX's, but if he's getting all new exhaust it shouldn't be any more $$ for a slip joint over a bolted flange. I paid $400 for all dual 2 1/2" pipes ran with the slip joints. I supplied the muffler. Just another way of getting it done. No better, no worse.

I'll see what the exhaust shop prefers and will have to figure out the CHEAPEST header back system with a muffler
Also got this today

Here's what I'm talking about on the slip flange:

The tabs are welded on so you can still unbolt the header and slide it out.

Never seen that before, always just had mine mated with ball and socket. Not a bad idea though. Either way each way still gets bolted together.

How's long has it been on? It surprises me the slip ons work like that with no leaks. I like the concept though. Right now I have 2.5" h-piped true duals with no mufflers from the fact back cats back. I think I'll have it all taken off and have the shop rig up a cat-less mid pipe into a single 3" Y pipe. Then I'll put the rest on and dump it before the tire with a cheap thrush or something.

Completed it February of 2012. No leaks whatsoever. 2.5" coming off each side into a 2.5" dual in/dual out muffler with an internal x-pipe. I love it dumping in front of the rear tire. Sounds bitchin when your stomping on it with the windows down. Nice & quiet for cruising speed too. Hate obnoxiously loud exhaust. "Damn KIDS!" LOL

Your plan sounds good. great flow & enough back pressure. Will do good with the charger. Get all new pipes when you do it.

Ball & socket works too. Just another way to skin a cat.
BTW, I can't take credit for the idea. An old hot rodder at American Muffler in Valdosta, Ga did it up for me. Guy's got over 40 years experience creating custom exhaust. Had a sweet late 60''s firebird on the rack beside mine. He had to give me a bib.
