I own a 2003 Fx4 5.4L and I had a question regarding electrical fans. Have anyone had any experience with Flex-A-Lite 270 Dual Electric Fans or TSP HC7106 Pro Series Dual 11" Fans? The Flex-A-Lite is almost 4 times more expensive ($493 vs $145) but it's CFM rating is 5,500 compared to the TSP at 2,780. Also, the TSP draws 25 AMPs from the system while the Flex-A-Lite draws 28 AMPs. Will the extra AMPs matter? Will I need the extra CFM rating that the Flex-A-Lite provides? How are both in terms of quality? Both have a one year warranty. My final question is, are there any better options?
Look at the rating on both of those, and that should answer your question. If you want an absolute fool-proof solution, purchase a used or replacement fan from an actual vehicle. Flex-a-lite electric fans are a complete joke.
I have personal experience with Taurus fans. I know plenty of guys that use the Contour setup, which is dual. Also, the 4.6 T-Bird's and Cougars came with a really nice setup as well, and the Mark VIII had an even better setup. Google search any of those I mentioned. I have a bulletproof junkyard setup that I'd throw up against any aftermarket system.

How is Flex-A-Lite a joke? Are those setups electrical?
They don't do as advertised. I had a FAL Black Magic fan, and I took it off because it made things worse, and I know several guys that have made the same mistake. And yes, those are electric fans. That's why I posted them. They are superior options.
I have a friend that modified a 2015 setup to fit his 10th gen. It's much better than the aftermarket setups. You need to consider the "surface area" in which you are pulling air through as well. I have both of my Taurus fans mounted in a factory shroud so it pulls air across the whole radiator, reducing hot spots. When you mount these fans like this below, you only get air flow through the green area.
Here is a picture of one of my setups on my Mustang. It is recessed in further than it looks.... this is to take advantage of the entire surface area of the radiator. They are a two speed fan. They operate at 2800 CFM on low, and 5600 CFM on high. Very strong. Google it and see the rage.

May I ask how they don't do as advertised? Do you think you can get the parts list that your freind used to make a 2015 setup work on my 10th gen?
I can tell you that my Taurus fan, on LOW (2600 CFM)will hold a piece of paper against the radiator. The Flex-a-lite, rated at 3300 CFM would not.
I will try to reach out to him... we used to Admin blueovalfanatics.com together, but then it was bought out and overran by spam. We haven't talked for a good year, but let me see what I can do.
His username is ibleedfordblue and he actually did a write up on it. It was on one of the F150 forums, but not this one. I'm headed away from my PC for a couple hours, so I'll look when I am able again.... but there's his info if you want to google.

Wait...this Flex-A-Lite 270 I am looking at one that is rated for 5500 CFM not 3300.

I think there's a Mark VIII build out there for one of these as well.
