Default Electric Door Lock Problems

On my 99 ford f150 my door locks just act like there trying to lock or unlock but never do they just click or it sounds like there to weak to move. it does this with the driver or the passenger switch. is this problem with a relay? the actuator on one side or both? or what could it be

Most likely the actuators. People around here say they take about 1/2 hour to install. Nothing too hard. Seems like it was quite the problem on these trucks. I know a friend of mine who is having an issue with his right now. Luckily, mine are still good. Knock on wood.

Both. I'd try replacing just one first, and make sure that's the problem. They're super easy to replace. You don't have to be a wiring pro, they just plug in.

ok i might try and replace the driver side first! and just wondering but could the Relay also be bad causing not enough power to be sent to them?

Yeah I have a 99 and when I got it the actuators were sluggish. Replaced them both. Although getting the part from ford instead of cheap eBay replacement is best. My aftermarket drivers side door broke twice and the ford part has metal moving parts instead of cheap plastic. It's about a $60 difference though per side . Don't know why te actuator broke so soon, installed them correctly and had te lock well lubricated. It's not that tough a fix but does take time on the first try. Good luck.

And it's not likely that the relay is underpowered. The actuators on this model are usually the culprit IMO.
