The One-Touch-Down operation is what I determined to be my problem and the by-pass removed that function. It’s been a couple years since I went through this so I don’t remember a lot of specifics.

Thanks ranchero,
I think it might be the circuit board that the window switch is soldered to. guess I will try a new circuit board

Maybe just check that circuit board for "cold solder joints". They can cause a lot of issues. Google it if you're not sure what to look for.

kelikran,
Thats what Im trying now. I have repaired a couple toyota compass/temp gauge circuit boards but it certainly isn't in my wheelhouse.

My past woe may be a clue to yours, despite obvious differences.

My pass side went intermittent, and got worse. Later, driver's side too. I learned that the pass side (in my '01) is powered, daisy-chained, from the driver's side. Fix was un & reconnecting dvr's side switch & connector. Later, did it again. Fix (& I read this somewhere in a forum,) backhand the door panel. No joke.
