Default Cooling fan wire

Hello. I know this is an f150 forum but i have a quesrion regarding a 2003 Mustang Gt. At the Mustang forum no one answered my question so I thoughtnI would try it here. The Mustang has an electric fan. Wire plug to cooling fan melted because of faulty fan. I cannot seem to find a pigtail to replace it. My question is can I just delete the plug and splice the wires directly together?

fans failing isn't the most unusual experience, because of that I dont think I'd splice them. There should be harness repair kits floating around out there (new plastic connector and some wire with the pins on it.

https://lmr.com/item/LRS-8607R-H/98-...Wiring-Harness I believe thats it, no idea if it's a good price, I just snagged the first one I saw. Ive made a few engine bay repairs on various things, I like the head shrink butt splices with the marine heat shrink from harbor freight

An alternative would be to go to a pull and pay yard can cut one out.

svtperformance.com has some good tech guys for mustang stuff

Amazon Amazon

This should be it too. Comes with all you need, and it's Motorcraft.

EDIT: It's a very common pigtail... I know both of my Escape's use the same one.

on Amazon it MIGHT be motorcraft. Not that it really matters in this case but counterfeit parts on Amazon are becoming a real PITA

With Amazon, you can always send it back if you don't like it. That's why I still buy from them.
