Default doors cracking...

Got this 98 f150 xlt 70,000 miles from my dad a few weeks back. i noticed the 2 front doors are cracking near the bottom corner of the window. he said ford fixed this at around 30,000 miles already. Anyone else having this issue and whats the fix? my dad said he thinks the doors are fiberglas right there not sheet metal.

Do you have a welder and a piece of copper plate ? A picture would help loads.

No Ford will not fix it free. It had to be under warranty still. It is caused by driving the window all the way up into the seal. In 2001 Ford added a support to the corner of the doors.

That's cracked in a different spot. I'd get a price on that, in the mean time, you might want to clean surface around it w/denatured alcohol and dab it with silicon caulk for now. What you don't want is air, foreign mater, water to get between the paint/primer coats.
