Default Dash assembly interchange question

Hey everyone, I am on the cusp of buying the 2002 just waiting on the title for the trade vehicle. I have this huge love for the look of the 2004 dash that has the round ac vents. My question is will the dash assemblies interchange between the 2 generations or would it take massive electrical modifications? I'm trying to compile a list of things I'd like to do so I can get my wife to sign off and I couldn't find if the 2 generations dashes would or even could interchange. Thanks for any input you guys have in advance. Also if there is a way to make it work so the change can be done fairly easily please let me know or if there is a thread somewhere please link it. Looking forward to the responses.

No. Well not without a lot of custom work.

thank you for your quick response. That kinda sucks idk why I've always really liked the look with the round vents. I ain't afraid of custom work but there's already a lot of that going to go into this truck and idk how much more I can press my luck with the Mrs. On custom in the way of cost and down time I have a few years to finish all the stuff I wanna do to it but this wasn't super high on the list.

There is no way that would work. There's big difference between those two dashes

Okay that's kind of what I figured so oh well I could just adjust my way of thinking and see if there's a way to modify the existing ac vent system to make an insert like those with some aluminum sheet to take the place of the areas around the vents. The Mrs might be a little more susceptible to that idea seeing as how it's probably a lot less fab work and I wouldn't have to tear the whole dash apart to do it. Thanks guys for the info.

You might search the bed for aftermarket vents with a chrome surround that fits in your dash. Just a thought

That's probably a better idea than fabbing it. I just like any excuse to do metal work and casting aluminum. It would probably fit better too.

So I've been researching and scouring the internet most of the night and the only solution I've found is to mostly diy everything on the vent system, like fabricate plates and order the round vents then go in under the dash and modify the ends of the vent plumbing to accept the round vents. I've seen a few videos where people replumbed everything with PVC pipe under the dash for their ac system. Unfortunately I haven't found an aftermarket kit for this. Apparently either it hasn't been done or can't be done or whoever has done it is keeping quiet about it.
