Default Cup holder

My truck like a bunch of others has the spring broke off the cup holder in my 03. I pulled the cup holder out of my 97 and looked at it. It's held on with metal rivets where my 03 has plastic nubs. Is it possible to just use regular rivets and rivet that pos back on?

Also my 97 has a light in the cup holder but my 03 doesn't!? Wtf is up with that!?

Yes. I riveted mine back together years ago, held up ever sense. You don't want to use glue. Not nearly as strong...

Rivets or screws. Doesn't matter.

Hey 97, I used three sheet metal screws to get mine back together, you can see it here:

The hole is already there for it, just no wires or the connector for the pigtail. I'll look into it further when I get the drivetrain finished.

Ohhh that's right. Sorry. Little hazy on that. It's coming back now.
