Default Cruise Control problems...

My cruise control doesn't work but I don't believe it is a fuse, when I press "on" and "set cruise" the cruise light will flash on and instantly go away and not keep the speed. Any suggestions?

I had this exact same problem once on my old bronco II which turned out to be a vacuum leak.

Here are a couple things to check.

Check your brake light switch under the dash. Check your rear brake lights also. The wiring to this switch is prone to breaking right at the plug.

Secondly check the CC switch on the master cylinder. Is it leaking? Has it been upgraded by the recall?

Personally, I would check the switch on the master cylinder first. That's the most common culprit and was the issue on my 2001 SCrew that exhibited the same problem.
