Default Is this coolant temp normal?

So i dont know why this is bothering me now but this is after about a 30 mile drive at hwy speeds. The temp doesnt really go above or below this even idling for 10-15 mins. Normally i see other cars/trucks are mid way point even at an outside temp of about 30 degrees. The heat is adequate but i dont think its as hot as it should be. Anyone have any insight on this? I was thinking its the thermostat.

Mine is usually at the top of the symbol. Id have to say the thermostat is stuck open. Did you check coolant level? If theres no/low coolant youll get a bad reading since there's nothing to reqd.

In the summer time it is usually in the normal level i forgot to mention. How would one verify that if the temp sensor isnt throwing a code? I might still replace the thermostat anyways.

Your check engine light will be lit up. If it is go to Autozone ( unless you're in Ca. ) and ask them to check it.

Then theres the whole " if its the sensor then it might not send a signal or send an improper reading" thing.

Im learning with you pardner. Running cold usually points to the t stat.

Does your code reader read real time data? I sometimes watch mine for the beans of it, and it runs between 192 and 196 all the time. If this is a new thing for you, how new is your rad/overflow cap? Also might want to make sure your fan clutch isn't leaking.
