Have any of you seen a commercially made addition to the stock console? The space in front of the stock console is a big waste of space. The little box stores just have trays that are also worthless. I can't believe someone hasn't designed an additional box with a tray. Maybe I will have to build one.

Do a search on this forum for "expedition console," there are a few people that have done it.

 

The Expedition console is just what I wanted. I was just wandering through Craigs List to look at pictures and found an Expedition. Perfect. Much easier than trying to fab one.
Anyone have a used Expedition console for sale?

 

I used this tray thing from Walmart I cut it in half it was free though otherwise I woulda used the expy one

 

Yea, the expy console swaps are nice. I wish I had captains chairs in my truck instead of the split bench to make the swap easy.

 

I love mine especially since I had a regular cab with a bench before where people always had to cram in the truck so much more room and more comfortable now

 

I found an Expedition in the junk yard with gray interior. I took almost every screw and bolt out before I realized that the whole console comes out after removing 4 screws. It was all good becasue it was filthy and really needed a good cleaning. The threaded holes for the floor mounting plates are in the same place on the F150 and the Expedition. Perfect. Install was about 1/2 hour. The new consule is a little lighter gray but much more useful than the 150 box.

 

That's good to know! You got me thinking about doing this again haha. I just have to find captains chairs.

 

The console swap idea makes me wish I had an automatic. With the 5 speed I don't have much extra space for storage.
