My 03 5.4 smells like something burning under the hood smells like brake parts cleaner but It has to have burnt off by now the A/C compressor has been replaced recently that's why there was brake parts cleaner on the motor. Has anyone else's truck smelt like something burning after being driven for an hour or so and then being shut off I can smell it when I stick my nose up to the hood. It has 244,030 miles on it and it has turned the oil black in 600 miles and I think the oil pressure gauge has dropped a tiny bit but I'm not for sure. I bought it in august so I don't know what all is wrong with it.

Oil gets black real quick. Especially on higher mileage trucks. It's normal and you can't do anything about it.

After an hour of driving everything probably got hot enough to burn any brake clean over spray.
