Not sure what year you are wrenching on but here is my thought. My 97 4.6 had a misfire on 2 plugs. It has coil packs. I cleaned the connections on the packs. Used an ohm meter and found 1 wire that was open. Changed all the wires, used dielectric grease and issue solved.
As for the O2 sensor. Maybe due for a change. Vacuum leak can cause lean conditions.lean conditions caused by the EGR passage being blocked.
Just random thoughts.

Is the IAC and EGR hard to clean?

The IAC is 1 plug and 2 small bolts. Very easy.
The EGR is a little harder. Be very careful removing the 2 bolts that hold it to the intake. They break off easy. I know from experience.
The nut for the tube that runs to the exhaust manifold I think is 1''.
If you look into the throttle body by opening up the butterfly. Use a flashlight to look in, you can see the holes. Use throttlebody cleaner to soften it and something thin and strong to get the junk out.
