Post check engine light= oxygen sensor

i bought a truck on sunday and the check engine light was on and the pervoues owner said it was an oxygen sensor i would like to know if this is somthing that needs to be fixed now or can wait till lator?

If you can't feel anything like a miss or any other performance issues it is usually a emissions problem that can wait. Do go to AutoZone and have the code read then post the number here.

Yeah you need to have the code read, because it could be something other than the O2 sensor. Congradulations on the truck, what motor did you decide to get?

i decided on a 4.6L engine and i checked it is a windsor motor

it i drove it 100 kms home and it ran like brand new. i would to to autozone but i am 2 1/2 hours away on the praries
