My only thought is that's very strange lol. Does it still get power supply? Or is it just the radio won't turn on? What I'm asking is does the truck only send power to the radio when it's freezing outside? Or does the radio just not function unless if its cold outside? This is still very strange never heard of such a thing happening like this.

Mine does the same thing. I have a 02 SCrew and the CD player function seems to have a mind of its on. AM/FM Radio works fine though...

Usually goofy problems like that are in the radio themselves. Unless its a power issue all the time like mentioned above. The easiest way is just swap out to an aftermarket deck or a stock one off craigslist.

I don't fully understand his question. Is he meaning the CD player don't work but am/fm does? Are the whole unit won't power up unless its cold outside?

Very same issue as mine...I think it just gets really hot really fast. Yesterday mine accepted a CD and played for about 10 seconds then it stopped and the digital read out said "CD Hot"

I would look for a replacement factory radio or upgrade to a new or used aftermarket CD player. I just bought an old pioneer yesterday for 7 Dollers lol it works great built a little plywood box and stuck in it and with a small 12 volt battery to power it... Dunno what I will do with it now... Anyways yeah I would just start looking to replace the unit. I'm sure many people on here have a factory unit they would be willing to let go. As junkyards and eBay would also. If I was into shipping stuff I Would ship u my factory unit but I don't mess with that stuff.

Is it in dash, or the 6 cd changer? I would definitely upgrade to an aftermarket unit, I love my in dash dvd.
