Question Bumper question

Ok guys lately I've been thinking about swapping out my 99-03 front bumper for the 97/98 bumper. I like how it gives the truck a more pointed look rather than the bulgy look the 99-03 bumper gives plus I'm a fan of chrome so... if I swapped out my bumper/valence/shell/grill and put on the 97/98 bumper/valence/etc... would it bolt right up? I've heard that 99-03 bumpers will bolt up to 97/98 f150's just wondering if it could be vise versa... Im aware that if you don't swap out the shell it won't fit right. Just wondering if it would bolt up right. Thanks in advance.

I'm sure you could do it. Grill probably won't fit though, so I'm guessing a front end swap would be at hand. A header panel, grill, and bumper will be necessary. Good luck with it though.

Why would you want to. They look ugly imo I love the looks of the 99-03. And also if you go to sell your truck its gonna make it worth less. For anyone that knows anything about trucks. People are gonna think its been wrecked.

I personally think they're uglier, but if you like em I'd say go for it. Then fool people with your 4 functioning doors.

If you can put a 2000 setup on a 98 then you should be able to put a 98 on a 2000, or whatever year yours is. All you should really need is the grill and shell and the bumper stuff

I like the looks of the 99-03 front ends... But I REALLY like the 97/98 front end theres just something about it I like more than my current one. And I'm not to worried about resale value because i'll probably own it until it's 20 years old plus it has 196k so... even if was going to sell it I would probably just put back on the original bumper and all. But hey everyone has there own taste

ya, I would have to get a 97/98 grill so it would fit in the shell but ya I would imagine it would bolt right up as long as you have the right parts.

you should have no problems making the switch as long as you switch all front pieces. It is the same for the 1999 up to the 97-8s. I looked into it a bit ago, and had all the parts located, then just decided against it. I have a 98 and wanted to go the newer route. To each their own, right?

ya, everyone has their own taste, I guess I'm only one of few people that prefer the older bumper over the newer one. And I think the only other way you can tell if it was a 99-03 would be because of the molding. The molding on 97/98 extends back to the bed, the 99-03 stops before the bed. and about the 4 function doors lol ya my truck was the only 98 super cab made with the 4 doors... not it's a 2000.
