Isn't the switch at the opposite end of the master cylinder from the booster? I know I replaced mine a few years ago and I think was only about $14 and 10 minutes. If the switch was the issue the fluid leak would be at the end of the master away from the firewall/booster. If the leak is between the master and the booster, that indicates to me the master cylinder plunger seal is toast and it is time to either rebuild or replace the master.

OP, use tubing wrenches! don't rely on that open end wrench you have had for years. Sometimes that will work but you don't want to round off those flats on the tube nut, they are soft. Also be very careful not cross thread the lines when reinstalling them. If you move the line juuuuust far enough out of the way to disconnect the master you should be fine but if you bend them too far, they will not want line up correctly for re-installation and will try to cross thread.

The leak was between the master and booster. And that’s what was wrong. The internal seal of the master was old. Replaced the master and leak is gone!

Common sense indicates leaks will travel....description was vague, leak could be coming from anywhere at this point.

You are of course correct Brew. And I may be a little too common to have much sense.
