Doesn't seem too bad for the price. If you had a metal brake you could potentially make them yourself a little cheaper but it seems they have provided us with a fairly cheap temp fix for an eye sore. I have a few years of autobody experience so I personally wouldn't buy them. Just the thought of the cancer still spreading under those would drive me nuts. Lol

I say go for it. Show us a pic of the finished product. I sure wish they had a whole side view on that page.

Very temp maybe, a waste of effort...total waste IMO. Fixing correctly isn't that much more effort, -

It's a good little scam tho, I bet that guy gets all kinds of suckers.

I haven't welded with anything other than a stick arch welder, witch i don't own one. Plus I don't know what I'm doing when it comes to body work. Never done it before.

I just don't know what I should do. The truck has 293k miles and climbing 1k a week.
It runs great and all looks well, other than the rockers. Like I said i just don't know what im doing.

We all have to learn sometime. In your case, perfect timing.

After I posted this I talked to my dad, he has a welder but neither of us are very costumed to using it. What he's thinking is we just do a father son project on his 95 chevy because the panels for that are a lot cheaper than the ones for my screw. We'd use his truck as practice then if i'm comfortable with attempting it with my truck then we'd do mine next.

The cutting and welding isn't really what i'm worried about, i'm more worried about painting and what ever else needs to be done? Bondo? Fiberglass? Not really sure on what all needs to be done.

Create build thread when your ready, you'll get plenty of help. I can instruct in both areas from here. So can others.

It's bad, real bad. If she didn't run so great I probably wouldn't have bought her.
Maybe the passenger side is savable? Or should I just go ahead and get that side out of the way too?
Door bottoms fixable or should I just leave that be. Sorry no picture, keys were in the house.

Alright, I think I'm better now. Wow, how long was I on the floor ?

Anyway, yea, that's about as bad as mine was. You'll need sheet metal for the drop down on the drivers side first. Most of that rocker is non existent.

Passenger side isn't much better most likley. There's more to it, but the paint is probably the only thing holding it together lol.

It's bad, the bed and core support can't be that much better. If you have a truck and trailer or can get a hold of one, it's cheaper and less time consuming picking up a truck down south with a blown motor. I mean, once there like that, yea, it's really not worth it unless you into it or really want to learn a few trades.

I'm in the middle of fixing mine. I have to admit, I don't like this type of work, I can do it tho and I'm not sure I'd consider that a gift, - it's more of a hex.

Anyway, I apologize for laughing, but it is a project that many cave in on. Actually, have you seen the threads on this site ? Some guys went thru this repair and have don a pretty good job...Impressively so. Check these out, -

This a good one about paint I saved awhile ago. Not our model year, but this user shares the steps that it takes for a great paint job. That's the only reason why I saved it. The correct info isn't easy to find, -

Anyway, yours is definitely fixable if your driven...in a way that has you pining over your abilities to get what want or desire. It's a hell of a lot easier to get there with the internet...use it!
