Bent Frame Horns
Hey guys/gals I'm a little new here (unless you count how long I've been a lurker) I got my '99 f150 4x4 on a pretty decent trade, the only thing is the previous owner who was getting up there in age let the truck roll into a tree on his farm. What I thought was just a bent bumper, busted oil filter relocation adapter?, and a bent hood turned out to be all that plus a bent frame horn and a leaf spring missing its clips causing them to come out of alignment.
The leaf springs arent going to be a problem, I just have no clue how to fix my frame horn? maybe a torch and bend it back to where i can put a bumper on? I'm clueless here and could use some advice. Thank you. and sorry for the messy garage lol no excuse there

Well you wouldn't gain anything from that even and usually fish plating a frame at least here in Canada can get you in a lot of trouble.
Say you pay full insurance coverage for 5 years and then someone hits you and they inspect the vehicle and notice the frames structural integrity has been changed you're not going to get anything - AND lose all the extra you paid those years, possibly all coverage, because that is what insurance companies do.
Unless it's done by an authorized personnel such as an Autobody Shop etc
I could be wrong, just going off my own input here. Wait til someone chimes in. Nice truck though. I like that color!

I'm not too sure about the color, maybe when I get a bumper on it ill like it a little more. How big of a job would it be to bend the brackets like you said? Sorry for all the questions. lol I got the truck on a pretty good trade though, an ar-15 for it and a mossberg 500. Engine runs pretty good just a bit of studder if im cruising at 50ish mph. Maybe coil packs? Im ready to dig into this one and make it a good $900 investment lol

As for the bracket, pretty easy tbh. SOmetimes you'll just have to drill a new hole so make it line up. Measrurements are key!
