Question Automatic Headlight Defeat?

Searched around but couldn't find an answer...

Is there a way to turn off the headlights even when it's dark out? My headlight switch has off, parking, and on (with a pull for fog lights which my truck doesn't have), and when off the lights come on automatically. I need to be able to kill the lights (or down to parking) when coming through the gate at work.

Hoping the answer isn't to pull the fuse/relay because I love the auto headlights.

Thanks in advance!

Yeah.. if they are automatic, there should be 4 positions. Auto, off, parking, on.

He probably has DRL's. If your truck was made in Canada (mine was only reason i know) It has DRL's. I've had dealers in my area say it was a recall, and wanted to disable them. Otherwise the only way to do it is engage the parking brake a few clicks till they shut off. Or pull the fuse

My 98 has a dial next to the illumination dial and I can turn it till it clicks and it shuts them off.

Nope - full lights (with tails).

Ding Ding Ding! Winner. Rolled the dial back and they turned off. I thought that was only for the delay after ignition off. Thanks Don!

Now, why do I have a fog light switch but no fog lights? Is that common or did I get a bumper swap somewhere along the way?

We all know the real reason you want to turn the lights off, and your wife isnt fooled one bit by you trying to coast into the drive with them off after you partied to late........

Guess I'll have to keep my eyes open for a fog light bumper!

It's like you know me or something!!! Actually, security gets a bit excited/agitated when you blind them as you roll up. It's a good way to ensure a full vehicle/person search.
