Default Auto Lock Issue

I have a 2002 F-150. Lately when I start the truck and go back in the house to let it warm up and come back out sometimes I find that the doors have auto locked. Before I start troubleshooting I'm thinking maybe this is a common problem with an easy fix. Perhaps there is a way just to disable the auto lock feature all together. Thanks for any thoughts/suggestions.

Does not work!!! I've tried it several times. People have said the auotstart that was installed prior to my owning the truck is doing it. The old autostart has no instructions to reprogram and the company local installers want $100 to fix it.
I carry a spare key at all times.

Get under the dash and unplug the brain box for the auto start if you don't use it

You could find the box and google the manual...not that hard.

The sequence does work on a stock truck with stock installed autostart - I have done it. But that was only for locking the doors when putting the truck in drive or reverse. They still lock when I press the autostart button. This is by design.

Thanks for this thread! Been locked out several times at random and getting very frustrated with it. I disabled the auto lock feature but still had doors locking when I started the truck. Never thought about a remote starter from the previous owner.

Now, if I can't find a remote starter can I just pull a fuse to disable the power locks or is it tied into other circuits as well? This is a farm truck and for the few times I lock it I can just use an old fashioned key.
