I'm 4x4 and I have the same problem, and I'm on 35's with stock gears haha. I just put some sandbags in the bag for winter. I keep one thing of kitty litter if I get in a really slippery situation haha.

Check your wheel alignment (caster, camber & toe-in) repack the wheel bearing and check front brake drag. Don't mix different tire types. Modern Tires should be replace after 6 yrs.

A reg cab 8 ft bed vs a scab 6.5 ft bed has a big difference on gravel and wet conditions my 97 would hop and spin all over the place where neither my 00 or 99 do it

Ford vehicle only looks tough but it sucks when it comes to traction on sand, mud and gravel even on 4wd. To avoid spinning the wheel use the parking brake.

Ill back up some other comments kinda, my old tires where dry rotted all seasons with 50% thread left on em, after i replaced those, i could go up dirt piles at pretty decent angles. That i previously couldnt. I also have a tool box with 250ish pounds of material in it, a couple things to look at..
