Have an 03 fx4 crewcab with 158,000 mi was driving down the highway and my abs light pops on. Brakes feel fine but a little confused why all of a sudden the light came on. Any ideas?

Best advice I can give you is go to a shop or somewhere that has a diagnostic obd 2 code reader that can read abs codes it could be the and sensor on one of the hubs more than likely but that is your real only option if you were close I would do it for you but in in Boston MA

Thanks man. I did some research and it looks to be a common problem with these trucks. The wire going into the harness is ran "weird" and needs to be re-ran. I'm taking a look this weekend.

it could be lots of things even a worn wheel bearing. Mines on all the time don't pay attention to it cuz I know it don't work now.

Advance Auto Parts will scan for you ABS light. They will not reset the light, but once you fix the propblem, the light should reset itself... mine did.

The hub seems to be the most common. I replaced my hub (sensor included) with an aftermarket unit from Dearborn Axle. They are on Ebay and have great prices compared to OE or a regular parts store. The hubs they sell are cheaper than just a sensor wire at a parts store, and DA includes a sensor wire.

The hubs are easy to replace, just get a Chiltons book and a good torque wrench.

If you live in Detroit area, they will deliver to you... anywhere, doesn't need to be a shop. They brought one right to my work.
