5 Star vs PHP vs MPT
I've decided my next mod will be a tuner with custom tunes. And yes I have already used the search bar and read previous posts I just wanted to hear some first hand accounts and opinions for my personal needs.
-SCT X3 with MPT tunes ($380)
-SCT X3 with 5 Star tunes (about $400)
-Edge CS with PHP tunes ($430 i think)
What I want from a tuner..
-To recalibrate the truck for the larger tires I just got.
-To gain some power and mpg back from the larger/heavier tires
-Firm up the transmission shifts a little
-Gain some towing power back (hauled a trailer of const. materials after the 33's and killed the towing power)
-I drive my truck very conservatively and put 60 miles on it a day and want something that will, if anything, help extend the life of my drivetrain.
For the custom tunes, I want an 91 tow and an 87 performance for the daily driver

Friend's '02 5.4 supercrew with PHP tunes, 6" lift, 4.56s, and 35x12.5 20s gets better mileage than my stock '02 5.4 supercrew. Both 4x4. Says mileage is worse when on the interstate at higher speeds because of the gearing though. He towed a reg cab chevy on a trailer the other day, but the regear is probably what helped him out there.

I just purchased the SCT x3 for my 03 FX4 today from MPT and yes it comes with 3 free custom tunes. When the programmer comes I will go back to there website and fill out the info for the custom tunes.
