Default 5.4l engine

hello,

i have a 2002 f150 160,xxx miles and routine maintenace done. i just replaced the spark plugs except the 2 closest to the firewall drivers side (help?) and oil changed about 1,000 miles ago.

now the problem is that ive noticed a slight tick comingfrom the bottom of the engine on the drivers side. its best heard when under the truck. does anybody know what this could be?

also if anybody could tell me how to get the 2 spark plugs closest to the firewall drivers side?

any help would be appreciated

Those back ones are fun, but you can get them with just a wrench and an extension, just climb right in and get r done, I found it hard my first time but once your used to it its easy

I had no issue with the fuel rail, if its in your way take it off. If you look on the passenger side bellow the airbag on the side, just infront of the Door there is a panel that comes off, there is a 2 wire rectangular plug that pulls out that is your fuel relay, start the truck and pull it out to drain fuel pressure in the rail. Once your fuel is gone, 2 bolts on the one side of the rail and it will just pull out of the injectors fairly easily. You will get some gas still so dont get excited make sure battery is unpluged and let it site to evap if your nervous about fires... I just fire it back up after, its a little anoying with all the stuff there but the rail will come off enough to get at the plug. Again you should be able to access without taking the rail off

sounds like an exhaust leak, check where the egr tube connects to the bung on your manifold/headers. I kept hearing that noise too on my truck so i checked one day and it turned out i didnt tighten the egr tube enough to the bung when i installed my headers
