OK, I removed an e-clip and now I've got another question (I'm really sorry for being so incompetent guys). Is the pin I'm supposed to remove to get the actuator shaft off the shift arm the horizontal one in the 1st picture? Thank you very much for bearing with me, this is my first truck and i'm still working to gain experience with fixing it. Thanks

Yep. Looks like you may want to soak it down with PB Blaster first. That things a little rusty!

Getting that pin out is going to be a challenge.

No problem bud. The only thing you really need to know on disassembly is that the only thing you want left there is the bracket with the eyelet that holds the actuator in place. It may require a hammer, punch, a saw and maybe even a grinder, but everything else has to come off before the new cable goes back on. BTW, if you damage the pin in the shift rod you can get them at harbor freight or a hardware store.

Use a little heat to knock that pin out if it still gives you a hard time after soaking. Doesn't take much to heat that up, - propane would probably work.

Thank you! And no, I haven't, I have no idea how it all comes apart after the e-clip and I've decided to save the shift arm before I start to bash on the rest of it. I'm sooooo ready for warm weather, sucks trying to work on this thing when your hands go numb after 15 minutes lol.
