thanks again I'm 27 and have only bought one car and that's my 97 f150 when I was 17 and I'm in a constant battle with time keeping it going so the wealth of knowledge in this forum is much appreciated.

No problem man. Get a uni bit to drill the hole through the firewall. Other than that, all you need is basic hand tools.

it would be so handy when backing heavy trailers and you didn't want the truck binding up in 4low on pavement.

Only one. Hi & low are changed at the transfer case via a floor shifter or dash switch depending on what type you have. This cable locks in your front axle.
