yep still broken. No 4wd. Can't get the shift motor off the t-case because I can't tell what heads the screws have in them. Looks like torx or allen keys.

Does anyone know if the screws that hold in the t-case motor are torx or allen keys?

LOL - Ford did some digging....Correct part # as long as you have shift on the fly 4x4. Ford also said the GEM has codes of its own that can be pulled. Catch is only ford can pull these codes.

ok. whew! I was about to be super pissed if the ford dealer gave me the wrong part number. Does anybody know what type of screws hold the t-case motor in? Sorry to be a pain and ask this so many times but I'm really trying to get this resolved as soon as possible. By the way Nosajb15af your avatar rocks

Fixed it! After replacing the windshield, the gem, and the switch. I finally surrendered my truck to a ford dealer and they found my 13yr old wiring was bad. So 3hrs and 195.00 later I have full 4wd functionality and a new windsheild gem and switch that I didn't need lol.

On the plus side, it was probably good that I replaced the windshield because there was rust on the electronics under the dash which meant moisture was getting in at some point. Welp done with that issue, now on to bodywork! lol

I am having the same isue with my 1997 f150. I went out to use 4x4 and it wouldnt go into any 4H or 4L. Then I have a light on my dash that is orange with a guy in a seatbelt with airbag in front of him. flashes on and off. Then I also can not turn off my tail light. I am stumped at what is going on here. any info would be great.
