Default 4.6 triton v8 cylinder 3 misfire

Anyone know what would be the cause if this? Someone told me it could be the coil pack. Need answer inspection been been out since Feb. Don't want to take it in to get checked if I can fix it myself it'll be a lot cheaper. Low on cash.

It could be a coil pack. but there's some other things. I dont know them all. Check the breather ontop of the valve cover that runs to the top back of intake manifold, if the hose came loose it could cause a misfire, i've had that happen. If a vaccum line came off elsewhere it could be causing an issue with fuel air mixture and cause a misfire. Check your coil pack connections make sure they are still good and they aren't cracked and are on there securely.
hope this helps.

I'll put money on the coil pack. Just go to "vato zone" have them run the free diagnostic. Buy the pack and swap it out.

Coil pack, bad injector, back spark plug or wires, worst situation bad compression. Pull that plug and have a look at it, there is a guide in haynes or online that shows what your plug looks like and motor condition, you can match it up and will give you a rough idea. Coil packs go like crazy on these trucks tho so the guys are probably correct just they cost some dough, i would check the free stuff first

This engine family has a temp sender screwed into metal in the head and if the head gets too hot it will cause a spark misfire. Usually the radiator and heater core are plugged. These radiators don't do to good and usually need to be new. There core and plastic and gasket held together with metal tabs. About as cheap as can be made by man now. :drin k:

Had same problem with #3 misfire. Heard the hood seals dry out and water will leak right onto the 3 cop. Vaselined the seal n little dialectic grease on the boot n haven't had a problem since. Check to see if u have water in that area

Uh what??? He did not say his engine was overheating, but if it was it would cause detonation, not missfire. Start off with buying a new plug and coil if it is a coil on plug(you did not tell us even the year of your truck) But it sounds like you need to take it to a shop and let them fix it. when you don't know what you are doing it can cost you more in the long run.
