Default 4.6 programmer??

I have been playing around with the idea of getting a programmer for my 97 supercab 4.6L. I have been looking at the edge evolution cs model, I'm mainly doing it to boost my mpg and to change my shift points on my tranny. I was wondering if anybody has this programmer and how they like it and their mpg gains?

Thats awesome! Was it always 17 or did this help? And can you control shift points with the programmer or do you need a custom tune for that?

Don't go buying a programmer for mileage. Buy it for the power and shifting and any mileage gains will be a bonus. So many factors go into mileage and tuning is just a small part of the equation.

In all honesty, any tuner will only get you gains of MAYBE 1-2 mpg. And that's only if you keep your foot out of it. You will affect your mpg more by how you drive and keeping tires properly inflated more then a tuner.

Any manufacturer that claims otherwise isn't true or based in real world results.

Im stuck on whether or not to gear down or get a programmer i have the 4.6 and recently got 20" rims on 33" tires ive noticed a huge power decrease and probably bad mpg to follow.
