The vic motor will work fine, just use your f150 intake.

I guess I should mention if the vic motor is 2001 or newer it will be a PI motor and your non-PI intake wont work so you'll need a 2001+ 4.6 f150 intake from a junk yard.

That and are you sure it's the cylinder and not the head? cause if it's just that you have low compression it's probably a head. Of course if you've been driving it misfiring for too long you might just want to do the whole long block anyway.

yeah i know #4 is down on compression, and is probably a burnt valve;but it also knocks for a second or two on cold start up;so there is some kind of crank bearing problem too!!

Gotcha. like I said the only issue would be the year of the vic motor.

No. What year is the crown vic. If it's older than 2001 it doesn't matter. PI is performance improved, it's just a different style head that your npi intake won't bolt to. Like I said it only matters if the vic is 2001+

i'm pretty sure i can find a whole 2000 vic with low kms that was smashed,i'm just not sure of the engine code yet!!i just didn't know if i had to change timing chain covers or valve covers,ect...
i'm pretty sure i can get the whole car for $500 and it 120kms on it;but didn't see if the 8th digit was a "W"yet
