Long story sorry , but Im pulling my hair out, Bought a97 f150 4x 4.2 5 speed, the guy had the intake leak, installed gaskets started and blew up cat, truck throws no codes at this point, checked intake gasket ,took off and checked ports while install injectors, new fuel reg , fuel pump, installed new cat burned it up, throws o2 sensor bank 2 upper switched it out runs the same backfires aliitle no power have not put cat on yet, also has new coil, wires ,plugs no vacum leaks that i can find, pulls 30 psi vacum, compression is 185 to 190 on all cylinders, all injecter are firing, no misfires, upper 02s have a mirrored image. cleaned mas air. at idle scan tool says 14 degrees, any body have any ideas, my 16 year old is wanting to drive his pickup, thanks mac

the snap on scanner said bank 2 sensor one, you could see in live mode it wasnt working , bank 2 lean, my innova 3130 now says p1151,p1157, p1703, with check engine lite not on, as of right now bank 2 has no exhaust hooke to exhaust manifold ther fore sensor 2 behind cat is not inplay, hooked to wire but ty strapped out of way

went back to basics, the guy had 2 plug wires reversed, got new cat on , now pulling p1157 and p0161 , looks like my rear o2 is bad on bank 2 any body agree , runs great now

Am glad you have a sence of humor and are not getting ticked off at the two failing attempts at humor. The P1157 going by memory, isn't that still a lean code? Unfortunately wife has my truck with the code reader and book to know what the PO161 is. Will get back to you later.
I know I'm past my prime and have always been stubborn, but I hear about people changing O2 sensors as a fix as often as running to the store for a thermostat to correct an overheating issue only to find out the jerk before them already remove the stat. Am Glad I have stock in both manufactures
