Just to confirm the OP's comments.
The 3.73 is sufficient, but you will see a slight decrease in towing and gas mileage with diminish. I still tow regularly with mine and use it off pavement a bit. So the FX4 3.73 fits my needs perfect.

Those tires look really tight in the wheel well.

They most rub a lot, eh?

BTW, 305/70/17 are 33.81 inches in diameter.

Actually dont rub at all. The rear looks tight because it has about 2500lbs of payload on top of it.

You are exactly correct, with an approx width, without ***** of 12.01

Here's another page that may be helpful to some members looking at new tires.

Is a 285/70/17 taller or wider then a 265/70/17? I am looking to put the biggest set of tires I can on my truck but I am not sure how big I can go. I am still playing with the idea to crank my t-bars but I'm not sure if I should, I seem to have really bad luck and I would probably end up breaking something. So what is the biggest set of tires I can fit without the t-bars cranked?

Read through the first post, there's nothing wrong with cranking up your tbars or even maxing them out, with them cranked all the way you can fit a 35x12.5 or a 315/70 if you leave them in the stock position you can fit a 33x12.5 or a 285 or a 295/70.

Well I found a decent set of used BFG All-terrains 315/70r17 and threw them on yesterday, I have my front torsion bars cranked up but not all the way and just stock setup in the rear, I found that at full lock it rubs on the frame(the little shinny part on the frame in the picture) and when turning it hits on the front lower bumper valence, I also was able to get a hold of a Superchips tuner and reprogram the speedo for the upgraded tire size, I will defiantly need to trim the front bumper just a bit
