Default 2 Valve????

2005 F150 XLT 5.4L

When searching for coil packs I noticed the term "2 Valve" is mentioned.
What is this referring to and how does it impact me when ordering coil packs?

You don't have coil packs, - the 5.4Ls never did.

You have a "3 Valve" btw..COP system.

Impact would be, - Wrong Parts.

It means that each cylinder has 3 valves in it. The 2 valves only 2, etc.

While searching for COPs the site would have a section to see if the COP would fit my vehicle. My vehicle was listed; but a 'Note' stated it was for a "2 Valve Direct Fire". That leaves me to believe that the my type vehicle came with either a 2 Valve or 3 Valve. How do I determine if my vehicle is a 2 Valve or 3 Valve? I'm totally confused! Thanks for your help.

FOLLOW UP: Talked to local Ford Service Manager who stated it was a 2 Valve. Thanks again for everyone replies.

97-04 5.4L were all 2 valves. Mid year 04 the 3 valve was introduced, and was made till 08. 09-10 where 3 valve flex fuel motors

My second mistake; its a 2001. I own a 2005 Honda CRV and we have been working on my daughter's 2005 Honda Pilot. My brain cells must be dying faster than I thought; since its hard for me to keep up with things. I really do appreciate your help and thoughtfulness.
