Default 1999 ignition key programing

I only got 1 key with my truck. I bought a couple of blanks via Amazon. How do I program them to work with my 1999 F150?

It doesn't work that easy. Sorry. 99 up must have 2 programmed keys to clone others from the truck. You can have another made correctly and copy all the keys you want, but not until you have 2 correct keys.

You can use the dealerships or go to a good Locksmith and have them make you a 2nd key. Locally, they are about 75-100 cheaper than the dealer. You will need the vehicle, as it needs the internal info to make the 2nd key work correctly.

It costs about 85 bucks to have them done at the locksmith here.... which isn't too bad. That is with a key included.

Not necesarilly.
Forscan can do it, reprogram keys
But it might be picky about cheap chinese keys vs oem Stratec key.
Chance of deleting keys, not being able to program, and having to tow to dealer

Id do it in dealer parking lot

Damn....cheap compared to our Ford dealer. About 200 with key blank. How much is the Ford blank thru your dealership?
