Default 1997 f150 blower problems

My 1997 blower quit working while i was driving down the hwy. First on low then finally alltogether on all selections.(low, med and hi).i bought new blower, plugged it in and got nothing.took back then got new thermal resistor .installed that and got nothing. Then got new blower relay. Tried to locate where this is and cant find it. Book breifly states that it might be in middle of dash against inside firewall. Is this really where it is and if so can someone tell me how to get to it or if it is located somewhere else. Or if this is the problem. Im at a loss. Help please.thank you

I would check and see it it's getting power before throwing parts at it. The interior fuse/relay box is down below your left knee sitting at the wheel. Doesn't sound like a relay problem going out in stages. Could be the old motor popped a fuse. Or the switch itself.

I checked fuses.all are ok. Yea it completeley went out while was driving it. Motor just stopped blowing. So you mentioned it could be the switch itself. Is there an easy way to supply blower with 12v to see if it is switch

Pull the resistor on the right lower dash, under and behind the glove box. Look for the wires going to the bottom of the black housing and you will find the resistor. It is held in with 2 screws. You will most likely find it totally corroded and useless.

he said he replaced the blower thermal resistor. a quick look at the switch should be able to tell if that is the problem, usually the insulation on the wires will have some
heat damage. blower motor has power when key is on, switch and resistor control
the ground to the motor.

Thank you greasy knuckles first for noticing that and second for the tip.i will look at that right now. Wires looked normal. No heat damage. I checked amps on positions that book stated to check . and that look ok. The only thing that i havent check is blower relay. Book says (very briefly)that it is behind center of dash behind everything against firewall (inside). Is this true. I have to fix this soon. Before it starts getting cold.

I cannot remember, it has been too long since I worked on one of these. but the
book is probably right., edit, just looked it up in google images. should be on the
firewall up above the throttle pedal somewhere.
