I recently picked up a 2018 f150. This evening I noticed a large cable dangling in the front just of the oil pan. I reached in from the top and found a loosely coiled cable looking like a trailer plug. Does anyone know what this is for and where it should be connected? I really appreciate your time, this is my first truck.
Any indication of the front end having had a tow hitch installed?
I don't know if that type of connector is used if the truck was towed behind an RV, for example.
Otherwise, maybe P/O installed the trailer wiring for temporary used as the truck does not come equipped with the factory connection. OR P/O removed the plug from the rear bumper for some reason that we aren't smart enough to guess at.

Thanks, I never thought of that. No indication of a front hitch, but must have been installed for this reason. When I trace it back, it's all connect with the sheathing of the factory trailer plug on the bumber, which seems to work fine. I may delve in deeper to see where the P/O spliced in. Thanks for the response.
