Window Tint?
Hey guys, just wondering who all had tinted windows on there F-150's and if you do what percentage do you have on all your windows? Post some pics up with your percentages that would be awesome!
I'd check your local police station and find out what's legal. My son decided he was "better than the law" and went with a darker than allowed tint on his side windows. He got stopped, and had 30 days to remove it and avoid a fine. It ended up costing him double to get his windows tinted.
It used to be that a credit card had to be visible, held behind the tint.
Cops hate to approach a vehicle that they cannot see into. I don't blame them.

I have thought of putting tint on the front windows on my truck. Doesn't the states in the southern area's AZ, TX, FL and such have factory tinted glass? So that you do not have to use the aftermarket tint?

I just had mine done this weekend. Our law here in nebraska reads that you can only have 35% film on the front two windows. and the backs can only be the Factory tint or if there was no factory tint you can put on 20%. If you figure in that a regular window(with no tint on it) will only let in 93-95% of light then if you put on any tint think of it being like this:
Tint % used - 5 to 7%(natural window) = actual tinted %
I guess im just refering back to what Bucko Said. I think it would be wise to know what your State % laws are and make sure that you're somewhere close to them. I put 20% on my fronts, but because of the big front windshield in these things it looks closer to 35% and matchs the rear pretty nicely. Im a fan of the look of both being similar, I dont care for the rears being completly blacked out and following the front laws and having windows that dont "match" color wise.
Also, make sure that you use a good high quality film where ever you get it tinted or if you do it yourself make sure you get a warranty, nobody likes Purple windows
