For those who want to know the legal limit for your area, clicky.

And how do people get 2.5% tint? Every tint shop I've been to has the darkest at 5% which IS limo dark.

Very True Bucko! My tinting place always tells me to wait over night before i try to roll the windows down to keep from causing the film to move and make it slide or create the awful bubbles you speak of. Personally I like to wait 2 nights before i move the windows just to be safe. I figure i have AC and a Heater for a reason. And on most days in Nebraska you have to use both! LOL

It used to be that a credit card had to be visible, held behind the tint.

Cops hate to approach a vehicle that they cannot see into. I don't blame them.
i had had more that double the legal limit on my truck for like three years and have been stoped by the police a few times for different reasons and they have never said anything about my tint, but my buddy got stoped and the cop gave him a citation for 6 over and illegal tint, he went to court and told the judge it was on there when he bough the truck (a lie) the judge asked if it was fixed now and the cop threw it out

Awesome thanks guys... ya i live in Canada our tint laws are way less strict than the states. In ontario alot of places will only tint your fronts 30-35% just because they dont want people getting pulled over and then it coming back to them. I got my old car tinted 5% all around except the 2 fronts where it was 20% and the only time i ever got pulled over is when i went to the states, i just told the cop in canada our laws are not strict with tint like the states and he told me next time i come to the states i better not have tint on my windows. Other people from my city have told me they got the same thing when they have drivin to the states but ive never heard of anyone in my city getting pulled over for it. Our law doesnt even give an exact percentage for my province it just states:

Colour coating obscuring interior

(3) No person shall drive on a highway a motor vehicle on which the surface of the windshield or of any window to the direct left or right of the driver's seat has been coated with any coloured spray or other coloured or reflective material that substantially obscures the interior of the motor vehicle when viewed from outside the motor vehicle. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 73 (3).

Windows to afford clear view

74. (1) No person shall drive a motor vehicle upon a highway,

(a) unless the windshield and the windows on either side of the compartment containing the steering wheel are in such a condition as to afford the driver a clear view to the front and side of the motor vehicle; and

(b) unless the rear window is in such a condition as to afford the driver a clear view to the rear of the motor vehicle. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 74 (1).

Application of cl. (1) (b)

(2) Clause (1) (b) does not apply to a motor vehicle that is equipped with a mirror or mirrors securely attached to the motor vehicle and placed in such a position and maintained in such a condition as to afford the driver, otherwise than through the rear window, a clearly-reflected view of the roadway in the rear or of any vehicle approaching from the rear. R.S.O. 1990, c. H.8, s. 74 (2).
