Default Wierd starting issue

Seeing if anyone had similar problems. My truck starts different pretty much every time. A lot of times I'll turn key it will crank for a sec start right up but almost die. Others is will crank a few seconds then start. Sometimes it starts totally normal. It's wierd but really annoying cuz it does the almost die thing a lot. There is no grinding, no clicking and it always starts. I was gonna put a new starter in but don't want to just throw a starter at it. Any ideas appreciated. I'll throw a YouTube video on when I get a chance. And when I say almost die it's not the motor struggling or sputtering it's like it wants to start correctly but won't.

Sure doesn't sound like a starter problem to me. Sounds more like fuel delivery (check your FPDM) or tune-up needed (change plugs and COPs).

Plugs are the motorcraft, dealer did it before I bought truck. I put the global automotive coils in. Truck runs fine, I guess I could swap the stock coils back in and see. But I think it was doing it before also.

Believe it or not I had a similar issue and the fix was a simple cleaning of the battery connections. I didn't figure it out until it just wouldn't turn over at all. Had a loose positive so I cleaned and tightened both terminals and have had 0 issues with this problem for over 2 years now. Don't know what exactly was affected by the bad connection that was making it act that way but it is gone! Probably wont fix yours but its such a simple 5 minute job its worth a try right?
